Topological Masterpiece

These slippers delve into the fascinating world of Topology. First, we have two topological maps that include one and two holes. Think of these as a torus and a double torus (also known as a Genus 2 Torus). The other shoe shows an immersion of a Klein Bottle in 3-Dimensional space. A Klein Bottle is the 4-dimensional wonder where the “handle” of the bottle goes “through” (but in 4-dimensions, it doesn’t actually touch or have to go “through”) the wall of the bottle and becomes the inside of the bottle making the whole thing one continuous surface in 4 dimensions. The last surface is Boy’s surface – found by Werner Boy in 1901 – that immerses the Real Projective Plane into 3-dimensions.
