Street Shoes for Osa

The fun continues in a new direction. Osa sent me 6 pairs of Nikes and hereโ€™s where the first three have ended up! Iโ€™m pretty tickled with how they came together. From researching what people often do with Nikes, I took a mathematical twist. Simpler than many of my designs, in terms of the mathematics, but more complicated in their construction as the shoes are pleather and require different steps to complete.

First, this pair was inspired by the Louis Vitton patterns found on some high top sneakers. Usually the iconic LV is surrounded by its other symbols, but I went for the irrational backbone of much of mathematics: pi. this one seemed like it needed quiet sophistication with the brown stripe around the bottom of the shoe.

Three down, three to come.

My Newest Obsession: Shirts!!

At a First Friday a while ago, I saw and bought a lovely shirt painted by Lorissa Schaefer. It was so cute and simple: a single strawberry in the left โ€œpocketโ€ area. I was intrigued. Iโ€™ve decorated shirts before, but mostly with paint pens, and that is kind of annoying. The shirt snags as you try and make a straight line, and then has the audacity to try and run out of ink as youโ€™re filling in your designs with color.

So. I decided to have a go at painting. And, if I do say so myselfโ€ฆ I nailed it. Look at these CUTIES!!

What should be my next design?
